This is a great fan. It was very easy to install (I had an electrician wire it) but I installed it into the ceiling.
It runs very very quietly even on high speed. The light is quite bright so I suggest using a dimmer.
I wish it was a little closer to the ceiling but other than that it looks great.

The fan is attractive but very hard to install and operate. I had it professionally installed by a contractor who is used to hard work. When it proved to be too much for one person, another had to be called in. If I want to change the speed, I have to get a step stool and manfully (womanfully?) pull on the chain. It tips the fan almost sideways before it will engage. On the highest speed, the fan sways until I'm afraid it will work itself loose from the ceiling so I use either the lowest speed or the mid speed. I've had Hunter fans before that were great but I wouldn't buy another one of this type.

This is a good-looking Hunter fan. It was easy to install, looks great in a newly-remodeled room and works perfectly--very quiet. It did not have to be balanced. I installed it in about an hour-and-a-half start to finish. Do use a switch designed for ceiling fans--it eliminates the hum that fans often have,
